We, the undersigned students of the University of Ottawa draw the attention of the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO) to the following:

Whereas, the rights of students to express their opinions is guaranteed in Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms;

Whereas, the rights of students to express their opinions on campus is guaranteed in the SFUO Statement of Principles (p. 8) of their Constitution;

Whereas, having a pluralistic expression of different opinions on a university campus is vital to having a healthy university experience for all students;

Therefore, we, the undersigned petitioners, call upon the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa to:

Rescind Section 48 which reads, “The SFUO affirms a person's right to choose. No SFUO resources, space, recognition, or funding will be allocated to enhance groups/individuals with the primary/sole purpose of pro-life activities”, in the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa Policy Manual.
