RightNow congratulates new PC Party of Ontario leader Doug Ford

TORONTO, ON (March 10, 2018) – Political pro-life organization RightNow congratulates Doug Ford on becoming the new leader of the PC Party of Ontario after a hard-fought battle with several other candidates looking to fill this coveted position.

“We were happy to support and endorse Doug as our second choice given his defense of freedom of speech on Ontario campuses, openness to parental notification for minors seeking an abortion, and free votes for his caucus in the legislature," said Alissa Golob, co-founder of RightNow, a non-profit organization committed to nominating and electing pro-life candidates.

RightNow sold over a thousand memberships throughout the leadership campaign, and encouraged all pro-life voters to rank their ballot with all four candidates. Rankings were based on three criteria: pro-life voting record, winnability and policies and positions moving forward that were based on an interview with the candidate conducted by the organization.

“We believe that Doug is the right person for the job, and has the qualities needed to continue to build momentum for the party and include a wide spectrum of Ontarians into the conversation, including social conservatives," said Scott Hayward, co-founder of RightNow.

Ford told RightNow that he was personally pro-life, and said in consequent interviews that parental notification was "common-sense" legislation.
