ERIN O'TOOLE AND SEX-SELECTIVE ABORTION - UPDATED
Political pro-life organization RightNow has received confirmation that a free vote will apply for the entire Conservative Caucus on Bill C-233 (Sex-Selective Abortion Act)
OTTAWA, ON (April 14, 2021) – Political pro-life organization RightNow has received confirmation from a Deputy Chief of Staff from the Office of the Leader of the Opposition that Erin O’Toole will allow a free vote for all members of the Conservative Caucus on Bill C-233 (Sex-Selective Abortion Act).
“We are happy to receive this confirmation from Erin’s office that he will remain committed to his leadership campaign promise of allowing free votes on issues of moral conscience, such as abortion, for all members of the Conservative Caucus” said Scott Hayward, Co-Founder and President of RightNow. “This commitment from Erin to pro-lifers in the Conservative Party of Canada during the leadership race was a major difference between himself and Peter MacKay.”
“While we are happy that Erin has confirmed this commitment to pro-lifers, we are still disappointed in his decision to not vote for this reasonable and popular piece of legislation,” said Alissa Golob, co-founder of RightNow. “We will continue to keep a close eye on which Members of Parliament vote in favour and against the legislation and encourage our supporters to vote and volunteer accordingly in the upcoming election.”
