RightNow congratulates new pro-life Conservative Party of British Columbia leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay
OTTAWA, ON (May 31, 2026) – Political pro-life organization RightNow congratulates Kerry-Lynne Findlay on becoming the new leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia after a hard-fought battle with four other candidates looking to succeed John Rustad in this position.
“We were happy to support and endorse Ms. Findlay as our first choice given her commitment to parental consent and notification for minors seeking an abortion in British Columbia,” said Alissa Golob, co-founder of RightNow, a non-profit organization committed to nominating and electing pro-life candidates.
RightNow sold over 3,000 memberships throughout the leadership campaign, encouraging pro-life voters to rank their ballot with all five candidates. Rankings were based on three criteria: previous pro-life voting records, winnability, and policies and positions moving forward that were based on an interview with the candidate conducted by the organization.
“It is nothing short of incredible and historic that Kerry-Lynne Findlay won the leadership of the Conservative Party of British Columbia with the backing of the pro-lifers in the province. Given that over 60% of members cast a ballot in the largest-ever leadership race in the party’s history, it is abundantly clear that pro-life policies are winning policies and unifying policies” said Golob.
Ms. Findlay told RightNow that each member of caucus should absolutely have the freedom to vote according to their conscience on life issues, and that she would support parental rights when it comes to minors seeking an abortion and conscience rights for health care professionals and institutions regarding assisted suicide.
“We believe that Ms. Findlay’s victory is profoundly historic for the Conservative Party of British Columbia, is the right person for the job, and has the qualities needed to continue to build momentum for the party and include different factions into the conversation" said Scott Hayward, co-founder of RightNow.
