Say "no" to Manitoba bubble zones!
We, the undersigned residents of Manitoba draw the attention of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba to the following:
Whereas, the freedom of expression and peaceful assembly are guaranteed in Section 2 (b) and (c) of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms;
Whereas, there currently exists provisions within the Criminal Code of Canada (Section 264) to charge, prosecute, and convict those who harass others;
Whereas, the Manitoba law on which this law would be based prohibits providing information about safe and legal abortion alternatives to women;
Therefore, we, the undersigned petitioners, call upon Legislative Assembly of Manitoba to:
Defeat any proposed restrictive free speech legislation around Manitoba abortion clinics and hospitals, guaranteeing the protection of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, as well as the ability to provide women with information on safe and legal alternatives to abortion in Manitoba.
