The Kathleen Wynne government does not want women to know about safe and legal abortion alternatives!
We, the undersigned residents of Ontario draw the attention of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to the following:
Whereas, the freedom of expression and peaceful assembly are guaranteed in Section 2 (b) and (c) of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms;
Whereas, there currently exists provisions within the Criminal Code of Canada (Section 264) to charge, prosecute, and convict those who harass others;
Whereas, this proposed law would prohibit providing information about safe and legal abortion alternatives to women;
Therefore, we, the undersigned petitioners, call upon Legislative Assembly of Ontario to:
Defeat Bill 163, guaranteeing the protection of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, as well as the ability to provide women with information on safe and legal alternatives to abortion in Ontario.
