Believe me David I also am questioning what this represents and what this supports. It sure doesn’t look like a grassroots movement or that ordinary people will have a voice. It’s more of big brother knows what’s best !

This deeply disturbs me that an individual representing what I believe in, that our government so desperately needs, has been rejected by this council so I ask the question what do you represent and support? Please respond ASAP as I am very disappointed in this decision. Considering other actions.

Our family would like to know the reasond Gerrit’s appeal was rejected? We, the public have a right to know. We are very disappointed with decision and very concerned with these decisions not to be inclusive to represent our values?? Waiting for answers to determine continued party support.

I would like to know what your reasons are for rejecting Gerrit’s appeal. Surely the public has a right to know! If there is no detailed reason given for why his appeal was rejected, I will think long and hard about moving away from the federal conservative party.

Ii urge and encourage those on the Council to publicly state their reasons for not accepting Gerritt’s appeal. Where’s all this wonderful “transparency” our political parties are always bandying about? That transparency is about as real as the tooth fairy!!

As far as I can see no reason has been given for doing this and this has given people the assumption that it is because of his pro life views. I thought we were striving to be an inclusive society. How does this line up with your agendas?

Please reinstate Gerrit ban Dorland. Accept his appeal. CPC should not be censoring certain candidates.

Please give Canadians the respect we deserve in a democratic country. Reinstate Gerrit Van Dorland; or at least give the public a VALID reason for his removal. I am dismayed with the Conservative party’s apathy and willingness to water down our integrity. Canada is on a very slippery slope and this situation is further proof. Let’s put the beaks on.

As a supporter of the Conservative party I was and am shocked and disappointed to see that Gerrit Van Dorland has been unfoundedly disqualified. I do not agree with this. I ask that Mr. Van Dorland be reinstated and allowed to run for office.

I am greatly disturbed and depressed that Canadian country building values are swiftly being trampled on. As a lifelong active supporter of the Conservatives, I am now left with no other option but to withdraw my support of turncoat Conservatives. Unfortunately the differences between Liberals and Conservatives have been eroded. Freedoms and rights that have made Canada great have been removed. The unfounded disqualification of Gerrit Van Dorland is the last straw. Pierre Poilievre’s election to leader of the Conservatives was very hopeful but his ability to implement his promises are very disappointing.

I am not in agreement with this unsubstantiated disqualification of Gerritt Van Dorland. As a member of the Conservative Party of Canada I am dissappointed in our leadership and ask that the National Counsel Reinstate Gerritt Van Dorland as a candidate in the Oxford County bi election. In my opinion every supporter of the CPC in Oxford should cancel thier memberships and ask for a refund of all donations made to the party if Gerritt is not reinstated.

Please listen to the members in Oxford and reinstate on the nomination ballot. Or give a valid reason to the public for his disqualification.

We are deeply disappointed at the disqualification of Gerrit Van Dorland. He is exactly who we need as MP for Oxford County and represents many voters! It is apparent, and most unfortunate, that Pierre Poilievre and the CPC have designs for an out-of-town candidate for Oxford County; one who is falsely representing himself as a local, like-minded candidate. Gerrit Van Dorland, on the other hand, is legitimately local, and has a solid campaign for faith, family and freedom. He represents all that the CPC (should) represent, and he represents many, many Conservatives here in Oxford County. Please reconsider the decision regarding Gerrit Van Dorland and have him reinstated as a candidate. If not, you most certainly will be expected to refund a large number of voter donations, our household included, as so many only contributed to the CPC again in support of Mr. Van Dorland.

I am disheartened that Gerritt Van Doran was not allowed to run for his riding. It is becoming harder to respect Poilievre’s decisions. He speaks from both sides of his mouth on many issues which causes me to believe he is very hypocritical. I have lost my faith in the Conservative party and don’t know what to do about it.

This already is a sign that the Conservative Party has absolutely no regards for the concerns or believes of the voters of Oxford County. Gerrit was definitely the reason I supported the CPC Party and will now withdraw my support. Family and Biblical values matter to a large percentage of the voters of Oxford County. With out his support would we just vote for the Liberal candidate if our concerns are not respected anyway?

learn that Mr. Van Dorland has been disqualified, and strongly urge the CPC to review this decision.

Mr. Van Dorland’s position as it relates to the role of government, the preservation of family, and the protection of the unborn has been clear from the beginning, and any claim that he was not forthcoming with respect to these matters is not truthful. Our family, and many other families in Oxford County supported Mr. Van Dorland because of his position on these matters.

Mr. Van Dorland took a risk in being open and transparent about his views regarding faith, family and the protection of the unborn. And he received an overwhelming amount of support from conservative voters in Oxford County.

To disqualify Mr. Van Dorland on the basis of these views is to deny many conservative voters in Oxford County the opportunity to have their views reflected in government. It is our sincere hope that this was not the real intention in disqualifying this candidate.

Gerrit, we commend you for the work that you do.

We are used to this kind of behavior from our Liberal party and dictatorships around the world but please keep this behavior out of the conservative party. If I remember correctly at the last election the Peoples Party had around 10% of the votes in Oxford simply because there was no pro life candidate running in Oxford.

Imagine how disappointed I was to see the same old liberal-conservative tactics being used by the conservative party we supported. I wish to see Gerritt van Dorland be allowed to run as a conservative candidate.
The Canadian populace is finally waking up and becoming educated and no longer want to be led by an elitist, leftist agenda or bureaucrats that are not elected by the people nor represent Canada’s best interests. We are aware that Canada is a leading nation being absorbed into the One World govt. system and I am unable to distinguish where liberal ends and conservative begins in the process. The agenda is so similar. Our young people are looking for leaders who will stand for justice, life and truth and their voices will not be silenced.
Canada has become a notorious leader in the culture of death. A few weeks past a healthy 38-week-old baby in utero had his life ended in a Montreal hospital by abortion. WE have no abortion laws. Our veterans, elderly, and mentally ill are being offered death instead of care. Abortion and euthanasia/are leading causes of death with drugs and youth/young adult suicide at an all-time high. This fits the depopulation goal of WEF. Gender confusion which was relatively unheard of before 2005 has become a money-generating business in education, medicine, and pharmacy.
. Yet you deny these people groups a person who can represent them. Democracy, justice …I think not. I was made aware when Stephen Harper, a highly respected qualified statesman would not confront abortion he could lose leadership of the nation to an unqualified drama teacher. We saw the results . It appears Pierre is also very qualified in the drama department when observing the theatre of the house of commons .

Last night, the National Candidate Selection Committee (NCSC) of the National Council of the Conservative Party of Canada voted to disqualify the most winnable pro-life candidate, Gerrit Van Dorland, in the Oxford by-election nomination race on the recommendation of the party insiders.

The party gave no reason for Gerrit’s disqualification.

The real issue is that Gerrit is pro-life and more than likely to win the nomination.

Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party of Canada insiders have a preferred candidate, who Pierre has endorsed (which is in contravention of the National Council Code of Conduct, as Pierre as leader is automatically a member of the National Council).

Pierre promised that things would be different under him as leader compared to Erin O’Toole, but that promise seems to be quickly fading…

Pierre has already said he supports an open and fair Nomination process. The optics of this Disqualification are not lining up with Pierre’s words. Gerrit needs to be able to run like all the other candidates and the people need to be able to decide about their representative.

All of us are guilty of the state of our nation by the choices we have made individually and corporately and we will be held accountable for the success or failure to thrive as a nation.
I believe Canada has a great future but only if led by faith, wisdom, justice, truth, and honor. We do not want to be a nation that once was, but as a nation that championed the rights and freedoms of informed peoples united strong and free. O Canada we stand on guard for thee. Donnabeth Sweetland

Please reconsider declining of Gerrit VanDorland’s nomination. He is an upstanding candidate who would serve the Oxford riding well. The fact that he is also pro-life should NEVER be judged negatively, but rather very positively, as He will stand up for ALL his constituents!
If the National Council does NOT reverse their decision, many party members, including myself, will be forced to withdraw our party support, both financially and when it comes time to vote. Our word, and yours, Mr. Pollievre, should always be kept!

I am deeply concerned with the disqualification of Gerrit Van Dorland’s nomination for MP for Oxford county. I expect better from the Pierre Poilievre Conservatives. I am a fundamentalist Christian and to exclude Gerrit Van Dorland who shares my values is a slap in the face to me and every Christian in Oxford county. I became a member of the Conservative party specifically to support Gerrit Van Dorland. As far as I am concerned, if the national council does not reinstate Gerrit Van Dorland’s nomination for candidate in Oxford county, I give you my word that I will never support the Conservative party again. I prefer the enemy I know (the Trudeau liberals) to the one one with the smile on their faces and the promises coming out of their mouths, but with the knife waiting to stick in my back. Prove to me the Conservative party is different than the Trudeau liberals by reinstating Gerrit Van Dorland’s nomination for candidate of Oxford county.

As a member and worker for the Conservative Party I am extremely disappointed that Gerrit vanDerland has been removed as a candidate for Oxford County. What has happened to Democracy in Canada that a county can’t chose their own candidate? We can kill preborn babies up to full term, the most vulnerable citizens in our country. As MPs you should be looking for ways to protect them and at least have laws that stop abortions after heartbeat detection.
Conservatives will never be in power if you don’t stand for life for the unborn or stand behind candidates who stand for honesty, integrity and good moral values.
The freedom, and the prosperity we have been blessed with are quickly eroding and unless our government returns to a place of ruling in integrity and caring for all including the unborn the Canada we know and love will be gone.

I am not in agreement with the decision to exclude Gerrit Van Dorland without cause. I will be asking for my donation back. He is the ONLY reason I gave a donation!

It greatly disappoints me that the decision was made to eliminate the front running candidate in the Oxford riding. This candidate has been repeatably endorsed and is the leader in this riding and lets not forget, has sold almost half of the new memberships himself. I believe he shares the believes and the many conservative values with the majority of the people in this riding. To eliminate him from the ballot before the people can voice their own decision does definitely show to me that the CPC party has drifted well into the corrupt side of politics that the Liberal party lives in every day. This decision is wrong and needs to be reversed. The people need to have a say in who they want to represent them in parliament. This should not be decided by a group of 5 before the ballot has a chance to be taken.

I have recently joined the CPC party because I had hope that this party would make a positive and honest change. It now has left me with a sense of dread that this party is no better than what we have in power now. A power hungry, corrupt, left wing, woke, controlling party that will continue to do what they want, without listening to what the people want.

Please listen to the silent majority before it turns on you.
